Kendra Coatney
Sound Animal Services welcomes Kendra Coatney to our training family. One day in early 2003 Kendra got a phone call from her brother
asking if she would like to meet an eight-month old dog named Roxy who needed a home. The minute Roxy strolled into her living room she knew it was meant to be. Her dog obsession had begun.
Kendra and Roxy immediately enrolled in a dog obedience class,
and it was then that she met Jeff Tinsley. From the very start, Kendra had a natural
ability to work with Roxy and get her to respond to her commands. After taking Roxy to the
classes and realizing her own potential as a dog handler, Ms. Coatney enrolled at Animal Behavior College.
ABC's extensive program, instills a solid understanding of dog behavior, and
techniques used to shape that behavior. Through her studies, Kendra was required to
volunteer at an animal rescue or shelter. She chose PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare
Society). At PAWS, Kendra worked with hundreds of dogs, walking them, loving them, and
helping them to find wonderful loving homes.
Another part of the Animal Behavior College curriculum was to do
an 18 week Externship Program. Kendra's path again crossed with Sound Animal Services as
she was placed with Jeff Tinsley and Sound Animals to complete her ABC externship. After her 18 weeks were completed, she wasn't
satisfied with her education so she asked Jeff if she could participate in his year-long
apprenticeship program.
With Jeff's training and the hand's on experience that the
apprenticeship has given her, Kendra has worked with many different types of dogs and
helped to solve their behavior problems.
Sound Animal Services is happy to have her as one of our trainers and you will be
too.
